Cuatro cientificos galardonados con el Premio Nobel, que se encuentran de visita en Mexico, manifestaron su rechazo y sorpresa ante el recorte presupuestal de mil millones de pesos a la ciencia mexicana, propuesto por el Ejecutivo federal en el Programa de Egresos de la Federacion 2004.

Un pais como Mexico necesita una mayor inversion en ese rubro para impulsar su desarrollo, coincidieron Yuan Tseh Lee (Quimica 1986), Leon Lederman (Fisica 1988), Sherwood Rowland y Mario Molina (Quimica 1995).
