Make use of public lands
The petition drive that would stop the $800 million income tax surcharge from being imposed on businesses and taxpayers reflects how out of touch our elected officials are with taxpayers' concerns in tough economic times. We voted against a huge three-year proposed tax increase in January; the Legislature ignored the voters' wishes and pushed it through anyway without first finding ways to reduce government spending and waste.
