James Kittelson, a Lutheran Reformation scholar, professor and author, died Monday of liver cancer. He was 62 and lived in St. Paul.
He had been a professor of Reformation history at Ohio State University for 26 years when he accepted a 1997 invitation from Luther Seminary in St. Paul to direct its Thrivent Reformation Research Program.
