Feldspars are the most widespread mineral group, comprising approximately 60% of the earth's crust. The feldspar minerals are sodium, potassium and calcium aluminosilicates. Their ores are commonly associated with quartz and mica, and may also contain spodumene (a lithium aluminosilicate), kaolin, garnet, or iron minerals, depending on the type of deposit.
