Psoriasis unresponsive to topical corticosteroids improvised with high concentration tacalcitol ointment.(Washington Whispers)(Author Abstract)

In this prospective, multicenter, open-label non-controlled study, the use of high concentration (20[micro]g/g) tacalcitol ointment was tested in psoriasis that had previously been unresponsive to topical corticosteroids. Tacalcitol is one of the active vitamin D3 analogs. Conventional preparations of tacalcitol currently available include 2 [micro]g/g of ointment, cream, and scalp solution in Japan, and 4 [micro]g/g of ointment in European countries. However, the 20 [micro]g/g dose is still currently in clinical trials.
