DON'T tell Henry Allingham that he'll get over it, that time is the great healer. He has been around longer than almost anyone on the planet. He can recall the death of Queen Victoria and the birth of flight.
But today, at the magnificent age of 107, Britain's oldest war veteran is still haunted by the horrors of battle. Even though he has spent the past 85 years trying to forget, the memory still sets the tears tumbling down his cheeks.
