Nov. 3--Michigan's next gambling mecca? It could be western Wayne County.
Starry-eyed casino and racetrack developers, as well as city officials in Romulus, have big plans for turning cornfields into a $100-million racetrack and a $350-million Indian casino with a golf course and convention center.
If state legislators allow slot machines in racetracks, there could be as many as 6,500 slot machines in Romulus and Northville spread among the proposed casino, the existing ...
