Midas, Inc. (NYSE:MDS) reported a loss of $11.8 million--or $0.76 per diluted share--for its third quarter ended Sept. 27, 2003. For the quarter, the company recorded pre-tax business transformation charges of $15.9 million--or $0.62 per share after-tax--for costs associated with outsourcing the company's distribution business in Canada and for other ongoing restructuring actions in the United States.
