Oct. 18--When an Atlanta-based consultant recommended in March that three Charleston-based economic-development groups merge, he said it could be done by July.

Another meeting of a committee examining a merger is set for Monday.

Seven months after the consultant's report, Charleston Renaissance Corp., the Charleston Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Business and Industrial Development Corp. remain separate organizations and will likely stay that way at least until the end of ...
