WITH demand for 'whitehead' cattle the best for almost 20 years, the signs for the Hereford Cattle Society's autumn show and sale, in Hereford, on Friday, October 31, look extremely promising.

The number of Hereford cattle sold through the society over the last 12 months almost doubled from the previous year - the highest throughput since 1985.
