Nokia Corp. may drop Intel Corp. as the primary supplier of its flash memory chips in favor of rival Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., according to brokerage firm American Technology Research Inc. The move could be enough to bump Intel from the No. 1 spot in the $10 billion flash memory market to No. 3.

"Nokia feels Intel is inflexible,'' said Albert Lin, AmTech Research's director. "It seems Samsung is more than willing to meet Nokia's needs.''

Nokia and Intel refused to comment on the issue.
