U.S. Entrepreneurial Activity Leveled Off in 2002, New Study Says.

Aug. 14--The nation's level of entrepreneurial activity leveled off in 2002 after a sharp decline in 2001, according to a study released Wednesday, giving researchers hope for renewed economic growth this year.

In all, 10.5 percent of the U.S. adult population was involved in creating or growing businesses that weren't even 3 1/2 years old, according to the study, conducted by researchers at Babson College and funded by the Kauffman Foundation. That total was down from 11.7 percent in 2001, a ...
