PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The South Street Pre-Rosh Hashanah Celebration will take place Sunday, September 21, 2003, on the 600 block of Passyunk Avenue (just below South Street) from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Hundreds are expected to attend the pre-Rosh Hashanah South Street celebration.
Children and adults can experience the making, sanding, and creating of a shofar from a rams horn at the open air shofar factory exhibit. The sounding of the shofar is the principal ritual of the Rosh Hashanah holiday. The shofar (ram's horn) is sounded on Rosh Hashanah ...
