Since the publication of the state Voters' Pamphlet offering arguments for and against Measure 29, several retirees have called with offers to produce check stubs showing that Public Employees Retirement System benefits are, in fact, subject to the Oregon income tax. The proof they hold in their hands contradicts a statement placed in the pamphlet by J.F. "Mac" MacDonald: "PERS pensions are state tax exempt and will not be paying their fair share of this bond."
