A flotilla of small boats - kayaks, canoes and rowing shells - will take over the river waters Saturday when the first-ever Great Rivers Marathon wends from Shakopee to downtown St. Paul. The rowers and paddlers will start at Murphy's Landing on the Minnesota River and head downstream to Fort Snelling, where it converges with the Mississippi River. The finish line is at Harriet Island, 26.2 miles from the start.
