Fears of deflation have been deflated.
Investors - virtually in a matter of weeks - have forgotten about the threat of deflation, and financial advisers are crossing it off their list of worries.
"It appears that the deflation-is-dead camp has won,'' says Keith B. Hembre, director of economic research for U.S. Bancorp Asset Management Inc. in Minneapolis. "It's a crowd psychology kind of thing.''
