The Turkish General Staff (TGS) has an active historical division that has published a 27-volume official military history series concerning the Ottoman Army's participation in the First World War. This essay outlines the scope of this historical series and presents a brief summary and analysis of the archival base used to document the histories themselves. The author's conclusion is that the modern TGS histories of the First World War are comprehensive and reliable.
