THE popular image of a hang glider is of an adrenaline junkie, only too happy to risk their life jumping off acliff.

The reality is that North Wales Hang-Gliding Club have a 76-year-old member who is a regular hang glider, and they have never had an accident.

The Birkenhead-based club formed 26 years a go,less than a year after the sport was first invented in California and now have over 140 members, many from Wirral and Cheshire.

It is the oldest hang gliding club in the country, and flies at sites all over North Wales and the North West, ...
