If he wanted, Javier Bardem could be as busy as Antonio Banderas.

Both men were big stars in their native Spain, notably in the sex comedies of Pedro Almodovar, before graduating to American films. Bardem's first English-language role, as a gay Cuban poet in the indie "Before Night Falls," earned the first-ever Oscar nomination for a Spanish actor.
