Smiths Detection has received three orders to supply Smiths Heimann CargoVision (HCV) stationary x-ray inspection systems to Japan, for customs installations in Tokyo, Hakodate and Moji. The systems will mainly be used for truck and container x-ray inspections at these three coastal ports to help customs officers in their search for contraband and weapons in the global fight against terrorism. Delivery will take place in February 2004.
