HIGH POINT -- Dozens of kids Thursday were scattered around tables inside the Southside Boys & Girls Club, completing a mandatory hour of homework under the watchful eye of Boys & Girls Clubs staffers.

After finishing, the elementary school kids can log on to one of the Taylor Avenue club's 10 computers, or play pool or foosball, or get exercise in the Southside Recreation Center's gym.
