James E. Alger of Millis, a retired General Motors worker, died Saturday at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was 62.

Born in Milford, he graduated from Millis High School in 1959. He had lived in Millis for 50 years.

Mr. Alger worked for General Motors in Framingham for 31 years before he retired in 1990.

He was a member of the U.A.W. and the Amvets Post 495 in Millis.
