FOXBORO - Richard Seymour earned a Super Bowl ring his first season and a Pro Bowl berth his second.

What's next?

For Seymour, the goal has always been the same, and he's been saying it since the day he was drafted by the Patriots with the No. 6 pick overall in 2001. Seymour wants to be considered the best defensive lineman in the NFL. Nothing more. Nothing less.

That's why Seymour continues to approach every day of practice, every day in the weight room, as if he were fighting for a job. Forget the hardware.
