Chicago's regional rail plan. (World Report).

AN ambitious plan has been drawn up by railways and politicians to develop an improved regional rail network in Chicago, United States. The $US 1.5 billion project will be carried out under a public-private partnership between six class one railways, the commuter railway, Metra, the city of Chicago, and the state of Illinois.

The Chicago region environment and transportation efficiency programme (Create) will establish five rail corridors, including one primarily for passenger services, and provide 25 new grade separations to eliminate commuter rail service delays. ...
