MOUNT HOREB -- More than 30 years after Edwin "Mike" Rooney took over management of Cave of the Mounds, the attractions, lights and lessons here still bear his signature.

Cave of the Mounds is a rare and spectacular underground geological site near Mount Horeb, where tours have been offered for generations for people of all ages.

Rooney passed away last Friday, July 4, at age 85. His funeral was Tuesday.
