A los 17 años de edad el defeño Francisco Navarro Arroyo (hoy de 30) quedó impresionado por el verdor de la campiña y los jardines de las ciudades de Europa y soñó con reforestar México. Actualmente convertido en ingeniero mecánico, da los primeros pasos para realizar aquel sueño merced a un árbol chino de rápido crecimiento, resistente a toda adversidad y que hace un lustro el propio Navarro importó a este país y comenzó a cultivar en grandes cantidades: la paulownia.
