Lennox Lewis retained his WBC and IBO heavyweight titles when a bad cut stopped his challenger, Vitali Klitschko, after six brawling rounds at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The match ended when the ring doctor Paul Wallace ordered the fight stopped the sixth round of bout that Klitschko (32-2, 31 KO) was winning on all three of the judge's scorecards.
