It's fairly clear to this writer that trying to predict the length of the "Recession of 1990-91 " (have I just predicted its length?) can be an exercise in self delusion. On the other hand, there is quite a bit to be said about the present and likely future impact of this business downturn on America's railroads. And it's not all guessing.
