NANAIMO -- Here in the land of dead chameleons, fantasy premiers, and an ever-changing provincial cabinet whose scandal-plagued members enter and leave through a revolving door, the Social Credit party will no longer have Christian principles to guide its governance of British Columbia.

The news came in October when the party opted to drop the 38-year-old "Christianity clause" from its constitution - a decision fiercely opposed by conservative Christians who account for an estimated 25 per cent of the party faithful.
