SHEEP exports secured to the Republic of Ireland have been secured.

The Ulster Farmers' Union has welcomed the announcement by Agriculture Minister, Ian Pearson, that a derogation had been secured which would allow sheep exports to the Republic of Ireland to continue.

UFU president, John Gilliland, said the decision would avoid major problems in the sheep market in Northern Ireland.
