Avon reports increase in earnings. (Avon Products Inc.)

The Avon Products company has reported a significant increase in its third quarter earnings on sales which rose only moderately. Net income rose by 28.9 per cent from $34.6 million to $44.6 million. This gives earnings per fully-diluted share of 59 cents or 28.3 per cent above the 46 cents reported for the same period last year. These results continue the strong upward trend shown by Avon in the first half of the year, Sales in the third quarter reached a record $830.8 mil lion, although this figure was only a modest 5.8 per cent above the comparable period's level of $785.1 ...
