Jun. 9--"Definitely, it's the wave of the future."

The trend Rich Orr refers to is recreational kayaks showing up more often along with the venerable canoe on Ozark streams.

Orr is director of paddle sports at the Alpine Shop in Kirkwood, which stocks several lines of kayaks.
