HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 13, 2003

Hanover Compressor Company (NYSE:HC), the leading provider of outsourced natural gas compression services, announced today that it reached agreement to settle its outstanding securities-related litigation. While Hanover continues to deny any wrongdoing, it believes the settlement is in the best interest of the company and its shareholders to avoid the distraction and expense of continued litigation. The settlement will be subject to court approval.
