According to IINA, a special Islamic boarding school for the disabled has been established in Gunungpati district, Semarang (a capital city of Central Java) to provide students with religious knowledge and vocational skills. Established by the Bhakti Nurani Foundation, the school activities formally began in mid-2001 and had so far educated about 200 people with a variety of disabilities.
