Georgia Power Cuts Smog-Aiding Emissions.

May 5--Metro Atlantans should breathe easier this summer.
Georgia Power's Plant Bowen last week began removing as much nitrogen oxide from its smokestacks as is produced daily by 2.8 million cars -- roughly every car in metro Atlanta.
"No other state south of Maryland or this side of California where there are coal-fired power plants has gone this far," said Harold Reheis, Georgia's top environmental regulator.
