The Brazilian producers of poultry meat are being benefited by the German resistance in accepting the reversion on the classification of salted poultry meat proposed by the EU (European Union). Such change would lead to an increase on taxes from 15,4% to 75% and was predicted to take effect in Oct 2002. However, Germany managed to postpone the change twice as it is one of the main importers of poultry meat cuts.
