NEW YORK -- The UNITE textile union has filed suit in a Dade County, Fla., court in an attempt to force Perry Ellis International Inc. (PEI) to turn over a list of its shareholders. UNITE, itself a PEI shareholder, wants the list in order to campaign against new corporate governance measures on the table at PEI's upcoming annual shareholders meeting, where PEI's proposed merger with Salant Corp. is also up for consideration.
