Mid-July to mid-August: During the course of mining, two small vugs (nos. 1 and 2) were found that contained morganite, tourmaline, quartz, and feldspar crystals. Most of the crystals were quite small, but they kept the miners going, At a depth of 8 meters, a large cavity (no. 3) of quartz crystals was breached. The shattered condition of the pocket contents led the miners to bypass it and continue on down-dip to try to reach the bottom of the pocket zone. As they mined another 1.2 ...
