DISGRACED comedian Michael Barrymore would love to escape to Ireland and set up home.

Barrymore revealed he may build a house on his family's isolated Co Mayo farm, because he always "feels safe" there.

He said his mother's family, who live in the remote Gaeltacht town of Belmullet, always make him welcome, and he said planning permission exists for building on the site.

Barrymore said he longs to "seek refuge" there and confessed: "I could live here and forget about everything."
