Two of the Opus Series ensembles, the Choral Society of Greensboro and the Cantabile Singers, will perform works by Italian opera composers Giuseppi Verdi and Arrigo Boito.
Verdi's and Boito's names are forever intertwined, as the latter wrote librettos for two of Verdi's late operas: "Otello" and "Falstaff." However, Boito also was an accomplished composer who confessed he was "pulled in contrary directions" by his literary and musical interests.
