CAMP VERDE, Ariz. _Montezuma never lived there, and it's not really a castle. But Arizona's Montezuma Castle is one of the best-preserved examples of Indian cliff dwellings in the Southwest and is easily accessible to visitors.

The striking five-story dwelling seems to cling to a recess in the limestone cliff along Beaver Creek off Interstate 17 in north-central Arizona.

The early white settlers to the Verde Valley were so impressed by the cliff dwellings that they assumed it was built by Montezuma and other Aztecs from Mexico.
