Joseph Szigeti

Joseph Szigeti , 1892-1973, Hungarian-American violinist. After his debut at 13, Szigeti made his first European tour in 1912. Thereafter he achieved worldwide recognition for his musicianship and his interest in the music of contemporary composers. Szigeti made his American debut in 1925 and became a United States citizen in 1951. He made more than 100 recordings; in 1960 he retired.
