North Las Vegas city (1990 pop. 47,707), Clark co., SE Nev., a residential suburb of Las Vegas; inc. 1946. Tourism is the economic mainstay of this growing suburb. The city's population more than tripled between 1990 and 2003. Manufactures include furniture, food products, chemicals, food containers, septic tanks, fertilizers, and gaming equipment. Part of Nellis Air Force Base is within the city limits.
