Hermann Müller , 1876-1931, German statesman. A Social Democrat, he succeeded in 1919 to the post of German foreign minister and signed the Treaty of Versailles. He was chancellor in 1920 and again from 1928 to 1930. During the second tenure Germany accepted the Kellogg-Briand Pact and the Young Plan . Largely because of the diplomatic efforts of Müller's foreign minister, Gustav Stresemann , the occupation of the Rhineland was ended in 1929. Müller's cabinet was the last parliamentary government of the Weimar Republic. He was succeeded by Heinrich Brüning .

Closure of salient regions determines search for a collinear target configuration
Perception and Psychophysics; 1/1/2007; Conci, Markus; Müller, Hermann J; Elliott, Mark A; 787 words
; Grouping operations offer an effective mechanism by which to structure complex visual scenes. Among the various principles that support element integration, closure may be regarded as a main factor in shape extraction. In five experiments, we investigated the impact of grouping by closure on search

The contrasting impact of global and local object attributes on Kanizsa figure detection
Perception and Psychophysics; 11/1/2007; Conci, Markus; Müller, Hermann J; Elliott, Mark A; 787 words
; Studies on the involvement of object completions in search for illusory figures have so far reported equivocal results. We have addressed this issue by investigating at which level object attributes in Kanizsa figures influence search. Employing a paradigm that investigated global and local

Top-down inhibition of search distractors in parallel visual search
Perception and Psychophysics; 11/1/2007; Müller, Hermann J; Mühlenen, Adrian von; Geyer, Thomas; 787 words
; In three experiments, we examined distractor inhibition in parallel ("pop-out") visual search. Distractor inhibition was measured in terms of reaction time (RT) to a simple luminance increment probe presented, after the search task response, at display locations that either contained a search
