Herennius Modestinus , fl. c.AD 250, Roman jurist; student of Ulpian. Under the Roman Empire he was one of the five jurists, including Papinian , whose views were considered decisive in resolving legal controversies. Extensive sections of his work are preserved in the Corpus Juris Civilis.
