sildenafil
sildenafil (sil-den-ă-fil) n. a drug administered orally for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. During sexual stimulation, it causes smooth muscle relaxation and increased blood flow to the corpus cavernosum of the penis, which results in erection. Sildenafil is contraindicated for patients taking nitrate-based drugs. Tadalafil (Cialis) and vardenafil (Levitra) are drugs with similar effects and uses. Trade name: Viagra.
