Lauda Sion

Lauda Sion (Praise, O Zion). One of the Sequences allowed to remain in the liturgy of the RC Church when the Council of Trent (1545–63) abolished the rest. It has its traditional plainsong, but has also been set by composers. The words were written by St Thomas Aquinas (c.1264) for the feast of Corpus Christi (on which they are still sung).
